3D Modeling

Maya Explorations

Personal projects and explorations in modeling, lighting, rendering, and texturing.

Victorian Dining Room

In DSGN 2060: Advanced 3D Modeling, I recreated my own still-life oil painting in Maya to gain a deeper understanding of the forms and space that I painted. I created the model in Autodesk Maya and painted the textures in Procreate.

Dali’s Elephant

Modeled and rendered in Maya, this model was inspired by Dali’s 1948 painting, “The Elephants”. I created my own camera and rasterizer using C++ and Qt; check out my elephant model rasterized on my own software here.

NASA Technology Design Visualization

In Summer 2022, I interned for NASA’s Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR) in collaboration with the Boeing Design Visualization Lab at the Kennedy Space Center. I combined 3D modeling, animation, and simulations to facilitate the incorporation of complex, newly-developed technologies for the Artemis Program. Below are rendered images from Unity of the sites and technology from this project.

Google Code-in: Programmatic Modeling with BRL-CAD

I modeled and rendered the following images in BRL-CAD during and after Google Code-In 2020, in which I worked with the 3D modeling company in tasks for quality assurance, 3D geometry construction, and ray-tracing. I was awarded International Finalist for BRL-CAD at the conclusion of the international open-source competition. This project was my first introduction to programmatic modeling.
